In the spirit of this year’s conference theme, Bridging the Gap, we have curated a lineup of speakers and performers whose personal stories and professional achievements will expose you to thrilling new perspectives, and evoke powerful emotion.
BRIDGING THE GAP
Curaçao, a Dutch Caribbean island, is known for its beaches tucked into coves and its expansive coral reefs rich with marine life. The capital, Willemstad, has pastel-colored colonial architecture, floating Queen Emma Bridge and the sand-floored, 17th-century Mikvé Israel-Emanuel Synagogue. Colorful and lively Curaçao has so many stories to tell. Of course, the island is a popular holiday destination all year round, because of the climate. Curaçao has a long, interesting and complex story to tell and it’s a melting pot with more than 50 nationalities.
More than a beautiful destination, Curaçao is a nation in motion. To make sure we stay in motion and keep going forward, it’s important to bridge the gaps that are left open. Due to a rich history & culture, it’s sometimes difficult to pinpoint what’s authentic and what’s not. By communicating we can inform and inspire each other in order to understand and come closer and maybe even find mutual interest. The goal is to find creative ways to inform and inspire each other in order to keep moving forward.
x = independently organized event
In 2017 TEDxCuraçao is back with an inspiring event. The aim is to bring driven, enthusiastic and intuitive individuals together to captivate, inspire and connect. Island economics, a multicultural society and historical ties – our daily reality is filled with instances of, questions about and creative solutions that underline ‘Smashing Boxes’.
The TEDxCuraçao mission, like the TED mission, is to propagate Ideas worth Spreading and Actions worth Doing; to inform and inspire. TEDxCuraçao is an independently organized event licensed from TED to official TEDx licensee Nephtalie Demei and organized by the TEDxCuraçao Foundation in collaboration of a network of fellow thinkers and do-ers and long time collaborators.
